In 1983, Louis Vuitton entered its first-ever sports partnership with the America’s Cup, transforming the competition by creating the challenger selection series, the Louis Vuitton Cup, which opened the race to a greater number of teams. Today, the house continues its involvement as the event enters a new phase marked by the creation of the America’s Cup Partnership (ACP), a governance model focused on modernization, openness and inclusivity.

“We are delighted to accompany the America’s Cup through this new transformation, ushering in an era that is even more modern and inclusive,” said Pietro Beccari, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

“Together, we experienced the Cup’s first major transformation in 1983 with the creation of the Louis Vuitton Cup, and today we are honored to be part of this new historic edition—the first to be held in Italy—once again demonstrating that victory travels in Louis Vuitton.”

Anchoring the Naples edition is a creative symbol that draws on a historic graphic design by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the grandson of Louis Vuitton. His interpretation of the “V” becomes the emblem of both the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup Naples 2027 and the Louis Vuitton Cup, reinterpreted in navy blue, white and red.

“Louis Vuitton symbolizes the modern America’s Cup,” added Grant Dalton, CEO of the America’s Cup Event.

“The house was present in 1983 when the America’s Cup underwent one of the greatest transformations in its history with the introduction of the Louis Vuitton Cup, and it is once again present today with the creation of the America’s Cup Partnership. It is a shared journey rooted in excellence and change for more than 40 years.”
