Thierry Miremont, a corporate turnaround and transformation specialist, was appointed president of Marseilles-based down jacket brand Just Over the Top (Jott) in September.

Miremont, who for the last three years has spearheaded the growth of the French subsidiary of international corporate advisory firm FTI Consulting, has previously worked as CEO or president at companies like Lafuma Immobilier, CFC Croisière, Fram, Europcar and TNT. He is also experienced in the ready-to-wear sector, having been COO of Quiksilver Europe for three years.
Miremont’s appointment underlines the growing pains Jott is suffering from. The brand recorded revenue of nearly €150 million in 2022, after expanding at a headlong pace. In 2021, the L Catterton investment fund, linked to LVMH and the Arnault family, bought a significant stake in Jott, which is nevertheless struggling to find the formula to scale up the business and become an enduring success, 15 years after it was launched by Nicolas and Mathieu Gourdikian.
In the last few years, successive senior executives have tried to steer Jott back on an even keel. The company has relied on rapidly replicating its retail concept outside France, and is currently distributed via some 1,000 retailers, including 200 monobrand stores in some 30 countries. In 2021, Didier Lalance joined Jott and worked on a more upmarket positioning and on diversifying the range. Benjamin Durand-Servoingt, formerly at McKinsey and the Etam group, took charge of the company in 2024, while L Catterton was assessing the opportunity of selling it.
Jott is still present with major concessions in many department stores, but this year it has closed several of its own stores in medium-sized French cities. Next January, it will exhibit at Pitti Uomo in Florence and Who’s Next in Paris, trying boost its presence with multibrand retailers.
