Grand Seiko opens largest India shop-in-shop in Kolkata

Japanese luxury watchmaker Grand Seiko has opened its largest shop-in-shop in India to date in Kolkata in the city’s Exclusive Lines watch store as part of the label’s expansion into Eastern India.

 
“Exclusive Lines has created a truly world-class Grand Seiko experience for watch lovers and connoisseurs in Kolkata,” said Seiko India’s president and COO Niladri Mazumder in a press release. “This remarkable space not only showcases our finest creations but also celebrates the spirit of craftsmanship, precision, and elevated service that defines Grand Seiko. We are delighted to welcome customers to explore iconic timepieces in an environment that brings the essence of Japan closer to India.”
 
The shop-in-shop is designed to showcase the Grand Seiko universe with a focus on artistry, precision, and heritage, and houses its Spring Drive, Mechanical and Quartz collections. The opening follows launches by Grand Seiko in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi and is part of the brand’s move to connect with watch enthusiasts and collectors offline in Indian metros.

Grand Seiko is a luxury sub-brand of watch business Seiko Group Corporation which was founded in Japan in 1881. The first Grand Seiko watch was made in 1960 and the brand has a pared-down yet elevated aesthetic.
