It wasn’t specified whether she’s leaving for a specific new job or not.

McGrath joined what was once known as Capco in 2014 and has undertaken a number of significant initiatives and senior leadership roles across the company. The merger of Capco and Shaftesbury to form Shaftesbury Capital in 2022 saw her taking on responsibility for the enlarged Covent Garden portfolio, including Capco’s Covent Garden assets, as well as Shaftesbury’s assets in Seven Dials, Opera Quarter and Coliseum.

That’s a huge estate taking in some of central London’s key shopping districts.

The property giant said she’s “played an important part in shaping the company’s real estate strategy and, following the merger, in positioning the combined portfolio for long-term growth”.

McGrath will remain with he business until the end of the year “to enable an orderly transition of her responsibilities”.

CEO Ian Hawksworth hailed her “outstanding contribution to the company since joining in 2014. Her strategic insight and market expertise have been instrumental in shaping the business and driving long-term value. On behalf of the board and all of us at Shaftesbury Capital, I want to thank Michelle for her leadership and wish her every success for the future”.
