On November 8, Galeries Lafayette, in partnership with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, will open the doors of its first India flagship in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai with over 250 global designer and luxury couture and ready-to-wear labels.

“India today is shaping a new global language of luxury- one defined by culture, confidence, and contemporary expression,” said Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited’s CEO, International Brands, Sathyajit Radhakrishnan in a press release on Thursday. “The opening of Galeries Lafayette Mumbai at this moment feels especially fitting as the country stands at the intersection of global relevance and local renaissance.”
Located in Kala Ghoda’s historic Turner Morrison and Voltas House buildings, the department store aims to establish French elegance and a 130-year legacy in Mumbai’s vibrant cultural landscape. Product categories will include fashion, beauty, skincare, fragrances, accessories, and contemporary streetwear for men and women, set in 90,000 square feet of retail space designed by London-based business Virgile + Partners. The store also offers private lounges, concierge services, personal styling, and a rotating events calendar.

“As we unveil this world-class destination, we see a generation of shoppers who are digitally connected, globally aware, and seeking experiences that go far beyond the product,” said Radhakrishnan. “Galeries Lafayette Mumbai is designed to meet that mindset, offering a curated universe of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle that is as aspirational as it is personal; a space where discovery, emotion, and experience come together to redefine what retail means in India.”
