Republic Brands Group (RBG) announced on Wednesday the acquisition of a new portfolio of fashion brands, including Joie, Equipment and Current/Elliott, for $36 million, forming a new division called the Lux Group.

Sami Souid, chief executive officer of Republic Brands Group, said the acquisition underscores the company’s strategy to assemble a diversified portfolio of brands with strong cultural relevance and long-term commercial potential. The first collections under RBG’s direction are scheduled to debut for fall 2026.
“We purchased this portfolio because we believe in the value and recognizable assets of each brand. Joie, Equipment and Current/Elliott each bring an established customer base, proven market demand, and a distinctive point of view that complements our group’s broader vision,” said Souid.
The company plans to shift the brands away from a retail-heavy model and focus instead on digital direct-to-consumer growth and wholesale distribution. The integration strategy calls for expanding into new categories through licensing, appointing new C-suite leadership and naming dedicated creative directors for each label. Notably, RBG sees additional opportunities in handbags, footwear and accessories.
The expansion will roll out across major U.S. department stores and key international markets, with the U.S. remaining the largest region, followed by Europe and Asia.
